On Friday, January 22, 2010, Friends of West
University Place Parks Fund, Inc. visited the set of Channel
11 KHOU Deborah Duncan show. As Friends gears up for it’s
19th annual Park Lovers’ Ball, the organization
is hosting an event at Armadillo Palace on Sunday, January
31st, featuring designs by western wear designer
Pat Dahnke. The visit to KHOU’s studio was to help
publicize the upcoming event. Details are below. We hope
you will join us for the exciting event leading up to the

"It's Crystal
Clear ... Our Parks Sparkle!"
Jennifer Gatto, Daryl Hoover, and Kara Samples
are busy conjuring up an evening of fun, fundraising, and entertainment for the
19th annual Park Lovers’ Crystal Ball scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2010
at the downtown historic Rice Hotel Crystal Ballroom. Disco Expressions will be
providing great dance music for the event, and there will be a silent and live
auction, as well as big board, plus a scrumptious dinner. The co-chairs have
lots of surprises in store for gala guests and promise that this will not be
“just another gala”. This is a must attend event and it promises to raise lots
of money for Friends of West University Place Parks Fund., Inc. Questions? Want

Friends Guild 2009/2010
Perhaps you do not have
enough time to devote to being a Friends board member or heading up a Park
Lovers' Ball committee, but still want to be involved. The Friends Guild
is the perfect organization for you! Four coffees and some other
activities during the school year provide a great vehicle for staying informed
about West U parks and helping with Friends projects.
