Friends of West University Parks Fathers & Flashlights Changes Things Up With Camp at Home for 2020

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

October 13, 2020

West University Place – October 13, 2020 – Fathers & Flashlights is an annual fundraising event and one of the most popular ways we celebrate our parks as a community. Due to continued uncertainties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the difficult decision was made to cancel Fathers & Flashlights 2020. Though we won't be able to camp together, we encourage West U and Southside families to join us in honoring the spirit of Fathers & Flashlights by camping at home on November 7, when the campout would have been held. A special “Thank You” to our exclusive F&F 2020 Camp at Home sponsor Gibson Dunn.

We will be missing this event terribly this year - not only for what it brings to us as a community, but also for the important role it plays in raising funds for our beloved parks. Even though we won't be together, Friends hopes you will consider making a donation to West U Parks in lieu of typical participation or sponsorship. Donations during these challenging times are more important than ever in helping Friends continue its mission of improving and developing neighborhood parks.

To make a donation please visit WestUParks.org.

Each donation of $100 or more will receive a community spirit yard sign.

Please Note: Donations made to Fathers & Flashlights Camp At Home 2020 in lieu of sponsorship or participation do not determine eligibility for event registration in 2021. All eligibility that would have been applicable to 2020 registration will be applied to next year's event.

Event chairs, Michelle & Doug Huth, Sami & Jud Morrison and Christine & Owen Parker look forward to seeing everyone at the campsite next year!
