West University Place, TX – May 27, 2025– The Friends of West University Parks Fund is honored to announce two recent additions to their Board of Directors, Travis Johnson and Elizabeth Scofield.
Johnson and Scofield were appointed to the Friends Board on May 12th at the city council meeting after their dedicated service to the 2025 Park Lovers’ Ball. Liz was a Co-Chair and Travis was an Auction Co-Chair of the event, which was held on February 8th at The Post Oak Hotel.
Travis and his wife, Kathleen, have called West University home for the past eight years. They live on Nottingham Street next to Wier Park, where they spend many afternoons with their two children, Evelyn (9) and Walker (7). Travis, a native Texan, recently retired from a career in consulting. One of their favorite events is the annual Park Lovers' Ball. It is his love for this event that inspired Travis to join the Auction team this past year, and he will be involved with the ball again in 2026.

Johnson Family
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Liz met her husband Crosby while interning together at a law firm in Houston. They have resided in West University for ten years and have enjoyed raising their children, Grace (6) and Crosby (5) in such a special community. As with the Johnsons, the Scofields live just a couple of blocks from Wier Park and they enjoy spending time as a family at the park. They love all the new improvements to the park, especially the expanded sunshade and turf.

Scofield Family
Many thanks to Travis and Elizabeth for their loyal service to the Friends of West U Parks!
