West University Place, TX – June 28, 2023 – The Friends of West University Parks Fund is honored to announce the most recent addition to their Board of Directors, Sarah Covington.

Covington was appointed to the Friends Board on June 26th at the city council meeting after her dedicated service to the Park Lovers’ Ball over the last couple of years. She was on the Auction Committee for the 2022 & 2023 Park Lovers’ Balls (and is Co-Chairing the 2024 Park Lovers’ Ball to be held on February 10th at The Post Oak Hotel).

A native Houstonian, Sarah and her husband, Travis, have lived in West University Place since 2017 and share two daughters, Carter (7) and Ellie (5). Carter and Ellie are both students at West University Elementary School after each finishing their preschool years at West University Methodist School. Carter and Ellie love the West U Parks and can often be found at Colonial Pool on the Lily Pad (Ellie) and Green Slide (Carter) in the Summer while rotating their time between Whitt Johnson and Wier Parks during the cooler months of the year.

Sarah Covington has a background in Commercial Real Estate and currently stays at home with her girls and enjoys volunteering for their school and community in her free time. Her husband, Travis, is President of Development for Griffin Partners.

When they are not frequenting West U Parks or riding their bikes through the neighborhood, the Covington’s love to travel and explore new restaurants around town.

Sarah takes pride in dedicating her time to support Friends of West U Parks and says, “I am passionate about our little slice of a heavenly small town within the big city. We are very fortunate to have these beautiful green spaces within our neighborhood to enjoy and make memories with our families and friends. We must do all we can to ensure we maintain them for many generations to come.”

Many thanks to Sarah Covington for her loyal service to the Friends of West U Parks!
