Friends Mission Statement
The Friends of West University Place Parks Fund,
Inc., (Friends) is a volunteer based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising
funds for construction and improvement of parks and green spaces in the
City of
West University Place.
The Friends is a volunteer
board appointed by City Council, with the support of one part-time paid
position. Funds for neighborhood park improvements are generated through the
annual Fathers & Flashlights Campout held each October, the annual Park Lovers' Ball (generally held in
February each year), individual bequests, foundation grants, community
partnerships, and a variety of other events and programs. To inquire about

Those interested in becoming
a member of the Friends of West University Place Parks Fund, Inc., Board of
Directors must complete an application that is available through the Friends

Friends
Office The Friends’ executive committee will interview all
interested parties and qualified applicants will be recommended to City Council
for appointment. Members are appointed for three-year terms, which expire
August
31 of each year on a rotating basis. Completed forms should be mailed to:

Joining The Friends Guild?
Maybe you do not have enough
time to devote to being a member of the Friends Board of Directors, but still
want to be involved. This is the perfect organization for you. There are
Guild events held during the school year. The purpose is to
socialize and explore Friends projects and assist as needed and stay informed
about West U parks. Those interested in becoming a member of the Friends
Guild are
